Virginia Beach

We left Tom & Carol's early Thurs morning to head home & here's where things started to go downhill.  Popster was coming down with what we thought was a cold & hadn't felt good for a couple of days.  He was coughing most of the night Tues & Weds so consequently neither of us were getting any sleep.
After being on the road for about an hour he wanted me to drive......one problem when I don't sleep at night I get very drowsy in the car.  We had reservations for a room in Virginia Beach which wasn't that far but we made multiple stops & drank gallons of coffee.
We made it there by around 4:00pm with enough time to take Molly for a quick run on the beach

As you can see we were the only fools out there!

I found a piece of driftwood
This was an amazing man-made shell garden

We found a place to get take-out & were holed up in our room by 6:00pm.  I was looking for the closest urgent care center for Popster because I was sure he would give in & want to go but he wanted to wait until morning.
Love

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while &

Yea for Don the repair guy!

My new BFF is Don the repair guy who came today to fix the dishwasher. Amazingly, after he took the door apart it would close - I really did not believe the handle was broken but was defective! It had never felt right........always kinda loose. Anyway he decided that as long as we had a new handle he would install it & even gave me the old one as a back-up. Works much better now. Funny story - while he was here he got a phone call from the office telling him one of his earlier repairs of the day had called saying their dishwasher would not start at all. He called the lady back & suggested different things for her to try but nothing worked. He said he would stop back after his next call to see what it could be. As he hung up I said "Sounds to me like she has the "child lock control" on!". Sure enough after another phone call that turned out to be the problem! Maybe I need a change of careers!!!!!
