Do the men in your life know.........

.......how to do laundry?

 .......how to run the dishwasher?

........what day to take out the trash?

I went to a wake last night for the wife of one of our members of the course.  She died unexpectedly. They had been married for over 50 years & had been together since they were 15 years old.  He was devastated & when I hugged him he told me how she always told him when to take out the trash.  He also said he had no clue how to do laundry or run the dishwasher.

It was so very, very sad!

  1. Oh that is so horrid. The poor chap. I do hope a family member can step in and guide him through.

My hubby used to know but not so much anymore.

    1. Popster knows when to take out the trash..... cept he does it a day so I don't get to "purge" the fridge, he can run the dishwasher.......but almost never puts anything in the top rack & the man has no clue whatsoever on how to do laundry....... except he does take the underwear & socks out of the dryer & sort them!

46 years ago...............................

Today is our anniversary & I  have decided this post will be my version about how we met.......Popster's version would more than likely not be the same but that's how we roll! It was new year's eve 1963....yikes!.......I was a telephone operator in a little town called Huntingdon in England.  It was about 3 miles from Alconbury, an amercan air force base.  All calls went thru our switchboard including ones from the base so consequently we got to know all the GIs.  we would meet them at the Nickel Coin.........pictured here during our coffee..... or should I say tea?....breaks & lunch hours.  Whenever some newbies were transfered in they would be brought to town to meet the local girls. It was not "love at first sight"......I thought he was kinda nerdy & he thought I was a "stuck-up english broad"!  It was a few weeks later when he asked me to go to the movies that I realized he wasn't so "nerdy", so I guess we'll call
