"What was that creature?"

I had plans for a lazy-read the paper-pj wearing kinda morning in the sun room.......not meant to be here in the "land of who knows what will happen next"! Bob & Noreen wanted to walk early so they were going to be here at 8:30....Bob was our architect for the sun room so he wanted to see it. My brother was going to skype between 7:00 & 7:30am but I was okay with all of that...I could skype in my pj's!

I was just getting out of the shower when Popster came upstairs to say we had a small issue. Looking at his face I knew it wasn't small! He was outside with Molly when this animal came out from under the sun room viciously hissing at them.. He scooped Molly up & ran into the garage. He was trying to describe it to me & I'm like "come on"! He went back down into the sun room & started yelling "come see it's in the yard!"!
Here I am half naked, grabbing my camera, looking for my zoom lens while this thing is running around.
We called our local police department trying to get animal control & they told us we would have to call a trapper.  Popster was trying to explain that there something wrong with this creature as it tried to attack him & is , by now, back under the sun room.
They sent out a car & while Popster is trying to describe it to the cop Bob & Noreen pulled up.  I went running out to tell them to stay in their car when the creature came running down the driveway!  Popster dove onto the back of the cop car & I into the back of Bob's car.  Of course being the great "blogger" that I am I still have my camera in hand.  It started acting really strange so we realized there was something wrong with it.
At this point we are laughing at what the neighbors must be thinking with Popster in the back of a cop car.  Bob's comment: "You can't make this kinda sh*t up"!
Now our local "Starsky" decides he will try running it over & "peals" down our driveway just missing Popster's vehicle

"Excuse me but isn't the perp supposed to raise his hands?
After a what seemed like a very long time Starsky emerged from his vehicle in full "sniper" gear
"Yup I do believe I got him!"
After spending some time on Google I think I've identified it as a Mink.
There's never a dull moment around here!  Come visit....we will keep you entertained!

  1. Oh my. Your Sunday mornings are way more exciting than mine. Please tell me that somewhere between, grabbing the camera and being half naked to jumping on the back of Bob's car, you put some clothes on!
I'm just thinking how chilly your bottom would be resting on that chilly metal.

This one had me laughing out loud.

  3. That was one of the funniest parts of the "drama" ....me running around getting dressed between taking pics. I got lots of exercise running up & down stairs! I don't think I ever did brush my hair!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Sewing, weaving & emptying the waterbed

Monday morning began bright & early as we needed to finish emptying our bedroom.  Mark was dropping LiLi off before 8:00am as she does not have school this week.  We needed to drain the waterbed before we could take it apart.  As usual we were having no luck getting the water to siphon out & even resorted to having LiLi (all 35lbs of her) sitting on it with us!!  It probably took over an hour & who knows how many tries before it worked.  Got the mattress out & discovered the decking was falling apart.....good thing we decided to do this project,,,,I was able to find a local place so we can just replace it & to be safe I also got a new safety liner & heater.  I don't want to be doing this again for a while!  While Popster worked on replacing the baseboard & window trim in those two rooms LiLi & I started working on this doll kit she had gotten for her birthday.  All the pieces needed to be sewn togeth...

Happy "13th" Birthday Liza

Today is Liza's 13th birthday(that is 91 in people years). We are just amazed that she not only is still with us, after being told 18 months ago she wouldn't live 6 months but that weather permitting she still walks 2 miles every morning & another 2 in the afternoon! Check out the slide show.......her friend Lucy came over tonight & they each had a donut w/frosting & sprinkles along with ice cream. It was just too funny as neither one of them can see worth a damn but they knew they were getting something good! Lucy had hers gone in 2 bites but Liza went for the ice cream first & then took her time licking off the frosting!
