Give that man "Husband of the Year"

Up-date:  I got an e-mail from Marcie last night.....they made it home safely!

I have another Cr*ig's list story!

These things only happen to me!

It's like I am a magnet for these kinda people!

Anyhow my only thing left that I hadn't managed to sell was our table....it was too big for the kitchen & as much as I hated to I put it on Cr*ig's list.  I didn't have any luck so I waited a week or two & reworded the ad & of course lowered the price.  I got a couple weirdo replies & then this morning got another e-mail about it.  I replied giving my cell & saying it could be seen any time.  Lunch time I got a call from someone who wanted to see it but had never heard of Gl*nville.  She took my address & said it would take them about an hour to get here.  They finally showed up, Marcie & Jim, & it turned out they were from Oneonta which is an hour & a half from here.  She loved the table, she really, really really wanted it!  Jim not so much.......reason being they were driving a Buick Regal & how in de heck was the the table going to fit????

They went back & forth for a few & then Jim asked if I had any tools.........next thing he's taking the table apart!

Marcie really, really, really wanted it!

He put the base & legs in the trunk & thought he could get the top into the back seat.......after quite the struggle it was in there but neither of the doors would close!  Now picture this poor man had COPD & could hardly breathe....in fact a couple times I got very nervous but Marcie kept suggesting all these different things cus she really, really, really wanted this table!

Finally they started all over & put the table top in the trunk with half of it hanging out & the legs & base went into the back seat.  I found them some bungee cords to hold the trunk closed & everyone was happy!

Well Marcie was ....I'm not sure about Jim!  She gave me a big hug & off they went!

I am checking the paper tomorrow to see there were any accidents involving table tops on I-88!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

46 years ago...............................

Today is our anniversary & I  have decided this post will be my version about how we met.......Popster's version would more than likely not be the same but that's how we roll! It was new year's eve 1963....yikes!.......I was a telephone operator in a little town called Huntingdon in England.  It was about 3 miles from Alconbury, an amercan air force base.  All calls went thru our switchboard including ones from the base so consequently we got to know all the GIs.  we would meet them at the Nickel Coin.........pictured here during our coffee..... or should I say tea?....breaks & lunch hours.  Whenever some newbies were transfered in they would be brought to town to meet the local girls. It was not "love at first sight"......I thought he was kinda nerdy & he thought I was a "stuck-up english broad"!  It was a few weeks later when he asked me to go to the movies that I realized he wasn't so "nerdy", so I guess we'll call

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while &
