Life from where we are

Sat morning was much nicer........not as windy & got quite pleasant by afternoon. MaryLee & Linda - my playing partners. We split into men & women the second day. Across the other side if this water hazard there is a blue heron. When I got over on this side he flew to the other side!

I took these pics of the sunrise while walking on the boardwalk early before golf on Fri. Out tee time was at 10:00 AM & you can tell by the way everyone is dressed it was not very warm. We had extremely strongs winds & it was not the best conditions for golf.!!! The golf course bordered a bay on the coast which is what you can see in the background of these two shots. After golf we have a cocktail party in the foyer near the elevators........we just bring tables & chairs out from our rooms & everyone makes hor d'ourvres. This year the party lasted until around 9:00 PM when a bunch of the girls decided to go out for icecream at Dumsers. I ended up being DD & after getting money from our spouses off we went. We were given the assignment of stopping at a liquor store for peppermint schnapps( I think it was a payoff for a side bet from golf). We were undecided as to which way to go this time but realized that we could catch the Cape May/Lewes ferry without having to hang around. It was so close in fact that after stopping at a local supermarket for lunch to go we didn't even have to turn the car off after taking our place in line! We were in Ocean City by a little after 4:00 PM & these are the views from our hotel. We took a walk on the boadwalk before joining some of our group for dinner.

We are off to Ocean City, MD for a few days - hopefully no rain this year!

I took these pictures this morning when I got back from my walk - overnight temp was around 31 deg & look at this crazy fushia! This begonia is also hanging in there - we actually had an overnight last week in the 20's! I haven't covered it or given it any water in at least 4 weeks!

I went to Mark & Dani's in the afternoon so I could hang the curtains I had finished for their family room - pictures to come - I still have the ones to do for the french doors. We did that first & by the time we were ready to take LiLi out it was raining. We got out my golf umbrellas & all took turns carrying her so she could do a few houses! She had fun but is so scared of anything that looks even a little bit scary!

Remember the post about the dead crow? Well even fake crows die..........as you can see it wasn't pretty! He's missing his face as well as all his feathers! This poor scarecrow is suffering from "liposuction-gone-wrong" by an over zealous surgeon named Mollcula! One leg is completely "sucked-out" & she's working on the other one! Yum Yum!!!!! She absolutely kills me as she does not destroy any of her own toys - just mine!

Last week a light on my dash came on with a picture of a battery.........it would flash on & off but mostly only when I slowed down. The dash lights seemed kinda dim so I reported the problem to Popster! He, of course, just mumbled & said to keep an eye on it. It was kinda hard not to as it kept flashing right in front of my eyes! It did it all the the way to work the next day so he stopped over & looked at the battery. One of the cables was corroded so he cleaned it off, took the car for a drive around the block & told me the light was off. Wrong I got in the car to drive home & there was the light again! It was still doing it the next day so He took it to have the battery checked & it showed it needed charging. He said I hadn't driven it enough to charge the battery up! Most people have a garden gnome..........I have a gardendoodle!!!!

It's JoAnn's 3*th birthday.................oh my if that is true I must be getting very old!!!!! She is the "baby" of the family!!!
