Cooperstown & why are there so many troopers???

A couple sundays ago we decided to take a drive & headed out towards Cooperstown.  We had done it last summer & had found the neatest antique store so I wanted to go back.
See that tractor .........we got stuck behind him on a narrow country road for about a mile!  No problem we weren't in a hurry!
Also found out there's no going back!  We ended up in Cooperstown & did not find the antique store......boohoo!
The lake here is the most beautiful shade of blue/green
We couldn't figure why there was a state trooper on every corner, tour buses, school buses & people every where!
Duh!  It was Baseball Hall of Fame induction day!
By the time we found a place to park 5 blocks away it was pretty much over with so it wasn't too crowded to take a walk around.

We wandered down to the lake

Then we got back in the car to head towards Oneonta to get Brooks barbecue.
There was no cell phone service or gps so of course we headed in the wrong direction.....story of our lives!  We even pick the opposite of what we think & that doesn't work either.  When we finally got service the gps sent us down this country road to what seemed like nowhere😕😕
 Where are we???
 Yes this looks better.....maybe?
Aha finally.......home of the best barbecue around!  We got our food & ate at a picnic table outside because we had Molly.......it was perfect

Oh my.....where does the time go!  Ten years ago this scared & tiny little girl was brought into a room full of strangers. She was so confused by the strange faces. Now look at the beautful, confident girl she has grown into. We love you LiLi💖 Love

46 years ago...............................

Today is our anniversary & I  have decided this post will be my version about how we met.......Popster's version would more than likely not be the same but that's how we roll! It was new year's eve 1963....yikes!.......I was a telephone operator in a little town called Huntingdon in England.  It was about 3 miles from Alconbury, an amercan air force base.  All calls went thru our switchboard including ones from the base so consequently we got to know all the GIs.  we would meet them at the Nickel Coin.........pictured here during our coffee..... or should I say tea?....breaks & lunch hours.  Whenever some newbies were transfered in they would be brought to town to meet the local girls. It was not "love at first sight"......I thought he was kinda nerdy & he thought I was a "stuck-up english broad"!  It was a few weeks later when he asked me to go to the movies that I realized he wasn't so "nerdy", so I guess we'll call
