As I was going to St Ives........

Susan had to work on Tuesday so we drove to St Ives to take her to lunch

Popster & I lived here for a few months when we first got married
So did Oliver Cromwell!

We set out in search for our little flat
It has totally changed but I think this is the street.........
Image result for english phone booth......this could be the house.  We lived on the second floor & a "creepy old man" lived downstairs.  I locked myself out one night when Popster was working the night shift on the base.  I had to go up the phone booth in the square to call him to rescue me.  I remember hiding out in the phone booth until his friend showed up with keys!

Look at this bridge......no cars allowed anymore

The alleyways are so neat

This is where Susan works.  We picked her up & went for fish & chips....yummo!

Does Popster blend in with the locals......hahahaha!
As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?
What is the answer to the riddle?

  1. you know I loved that post. Tell Popster that that is Lily and Rosies absolute FAVOURITE Poundland.

I had no idea you and Oliver lived there, I must say you look years younger,

    1. I just showed Rosie the photos and asked her where it was. She said Onley at first but as soon as she saw the bridge she guessed. It's uncle Colin's. Lol.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

Yowsa!

I was woken up around 3:30am yesterday by thunder as a line of severe storms were rolling through the area.  My alarm goes off at 4:00am so I figured I'd just get up.  I was standing in the kitchen waiting for the coffee pot when there was a blinding explosion in the back yard along with a huge clap of thunder.  It was like someone threw a bomb in the yard....needless to say it scared the crap out of me & I was waiting for a tree to fall.  We didn't see anything & I left the house at 7:00am while it was still raining.  Popster didn't see this until last night but it had struck this big oak that is about 15 feet from our sun room.  It just stripped that piece of bark right off the tree  Makes the expression "Don't mess with Mother Nature" become very real!
