Yeah Miss Molly

We had Molly entered in our dog show this weekend on both Saturday & Sunday.  Sat we had put her in the afternoon session because I work in the morning but of course it was 90 degs out.  She does not do well in the heat. We were both competing at the same time as I was doing Rally & Popster doing the obedience.  I was able to move up so I could go first .  I have done nothing with Molly since I went back to work in April but Popster has been taking classes & working with her everyday.  Rally is easier in the fact that you can talk to your but you have to memorize the course because it's 10 points off if you do a station wrong.  You need to score 70 out of 100 to qualify.  I managed to get her a little "reved" up & we did okay until the last one which was a figure eight & you have to cross the center 3 times & I lost track & did one extra.......duh!  It was okay tho I got an 85 so managed to qualify.  It was finally Popster's turn & Molly was so lethargic by then, she wouldn't do any sits during the on leash heeling, & during the off leash heeling she stopped during the about turn & just stared into space.  DQ!  Poster was devastated but that's just the way Molly can be!

Today was a whole new day & being on first thing when it was cool made a big difference.  We left her in the car & I didn't get her until it was time to go in the ring.  She got in a panic cus she wanted to find Popster & he was staying out of her sight.   We flew around the course & I was amazed that I got her to do everything.  We not only qualified but got a 3rd place finish.

Now we had to get through obedience.  I don't think I breathed the whole time she was in the ring but she got the job done with the heeling on & off leash.  Everthing else she's pretty steady on. The only thing  left was the one  minute sit & 3 minute down.  Again I didn't breathe but she made it & got a1st place.  Phew!!!

I have more pics & I will post them later

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

Yea for Don the repair guy!

My new BFF is Don the repair guy who came today to fix the dishwasher. Amazingly, after he took the door apart it would close - I really did not believe the handle was broken but was defective! It had never felt right........always kinda loose. Anyway he decided that as long as we had a new handle he would install it & even gave me the old one as a back-up. Works much better now. Funny story - while he was here he got a phone call from the office telling him one of his earlier repairs of the day had called saying their dishwasher would not start at all. He called the lady back & suggested different things for her to try but nothing worked. He said he would stop back after his next call to see what it could be. As he hung up I said "Sounds to me like she has the "child lock control" on!". Sure enough after another phone call that turned out to be the problem! Maybe I need a change of careers!!!!!

46 years ago...............................

Today is our anniversary & I  have decided this post will be my version about how we met.......Popster's version would more than likely not be the same but that's how we roll! It was new year's eve 1963....yikes!.......I was a telephone operator in a little town called Huntingdon in England.  It was about 3 miles from Alconbury, an amercan air force base.  All calls went thru our switchboard including ones from the base so consequently we got to know all the GIs.  we would meet them at the Nickel Coin.........pictured here during our coffee..... or should I say tea?....breaks & lunch hours.  Whenever some newbies were transfered in they would be brought to town to meet the local girls. It was not "love at first sight"......I thought he was kinda nerdy & he thought I was a "stuck-up english broad"!  It was a few weeks later when he asked me to go to the movies that I realized he wasn't so "nerdy", so I guess we'll call
