Frozen Tundra

 How cold is cold?
Look at the real feel -15....yup it says MINUS 15 degs & it's supposed to get colder & windier!  That means even colder wind chills.  Tomorrow will be worse
This is Popster asking for a hug after being outside snowblowing for maybe 15mins.  This winter is so brutal...worst I can remember in a long time.  The snow caused ice jams on the roof & it was leaking into our kitchen earlier in the week.....couldn't anyone to come out as everyone has the same problem.  Popster spent most of the day chopping away & eventually stopped the leak.  That has to be fixed before next winter........can't have him doing that many times.  We have a whole week ahead of us of this weather.....it's crazy!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. Sewing, weaving & emptying the waterbed

 Monday morning began bright & early as we needed to finish emptying our bedroom.  Mark was dropping LiLi off before 8:00am as she does not have school this week.  We needed to drain the waterbed before we could take it apart.  As usual we were having no luck getting the water to siphon out & even resorted to having LiLi (all 35lbs of her) sitting on it with us!!  It probably took over an hour & who knows how many tries before it worked.  Got the mattress out & discovered the decking was falling apart.....good thing we decided to do this project,,,,I was able to find a local place so we can just replace it & to be safe I also got a new safety liner & heater.  I don't want to be doing this again for a while!  While Popster worked on replacing the baseboard & window trim in those two rooms LiLi & I started working on this doll kit she had gotten for her birthday.  All the pieces needed to be sewn togeth...

Happy "13th" Birthday Liza

Today is Liza's 13th birthday(that is 91 in people years). We are just amazed that she not only is still with us, after being told 18 months ago she wouldn't live 6 months but that weather permitting she still walks 2 miles every morning & another 2 in the afternoon! Check out the slide show.......her friend Lucy came over tonight & they each had a donut w/frosting & sprinkles along with ice cream. It was just too funny as neither one of them can see worth a damn but they knew they were getting something good! Lucy had hers gone in 2 bites but Liza went for the ice cream first & then took her time licking off the frosting!
