Molly..... Down & Dirty

Our sunday mornings usually start off lazy by reading the paper over several cups of coffee.  However this morning Miss Molly was having none of that.  She knows it's sunday which means we go somewhere early to take her for a walk.  She started "bugging" me right from when I got up so I kinda "wound her up" by telling her we would take her to Kinn's road & by the time we were ready to leave she had been pacing for a couple of hours.
We started along the usual trail & she was being her normal nutty self.
Not totally crazy like she can be!
Then we decide to take a new path which we knew let down to some water.
You can just see it here....what you can't see is Molly running around in it like a maniac.

By the time we made it down this is what she looked like!

We continued up the hill.......
.....past this strange building but it didn't go anywhere so we turned around.
Then headed up another trail...........
......Molly was always ahead leading the way.  We ended up on a high ridge which also went nowhere.
We had to scramble our way down a steep hill but meanwhile Molly raced ahead & was running back & forth through the water again.
She then decided to roll around in a big pile of leaves....she was so comical we couldn't help laughing at her.
This is the hill we had come down.
On our way back up to the main trail Molly decided that leaves didn't make enough mess so tried this sand pileon for size.

Can you believe this crazy dog!
Yup there's a dog in there somewhere!
 She thinks she's beautiful!

We walked for the rest of the way around the park & she never stopped running around the whole time.  We didn't even want to put her in the car but we did & drove straight to the "doggy car wash" but the dang place was closed.  We had to bring her home & put her in my nice white bath tub & give her a shower.   It took about a half hour before there was clean water coming off her & it took me an hour to clean the bathroom!

There's one thing about Molly.....she never fails to entertain us!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Sewing, weaving & emptying the waterbed

Monday morning began bright & early as we needed to finish emptying our bedroom.  Mark was dropping LiLi off before 8:00am as she does not have school this week.  We needed to drain the waterbed before we could take it apart.  As usual we were having no luck getting the water to siphon out & even resorted to having LiLi (all 35lbs of her) sitting on it with us!!  It probably took over an hour & who knows how many tries before it worked.  Got the mattress out & discovered the decking was falling apart.....good thing we decided to do this project,,,,I was able to find a local place so we can just replace it & to be safe I also got a new safety liner & heater.  I don't want to be doing this again for a while!  While Popster worked on replacing the baseboard & window trim in those two rooms LiLi & I started working on this doll kit she had gotten for her birthday.  All the pieces needed to be sewn togeth...

Happy "13th" Birthday Liza

Today is Liza's 13th birthday(that is 91 in people years). We are just amazed that she not only is still with us, after being told 18 months ago she wouldn't live 6 months but that weather permitting she still walks 2 miles every morning & another 2 in the afternoon! Check out the slide show.......her friend Lucy came over tonight & they each had a donut w/frosting & sprinkles along with ice cream. It was just too funny as neither one of them can see worth a damn but they knew they were getting something good! Lucy had hers gone in 2 bites but Liza went for the ice cream first & then took her time licking off the frosting!
