An unexpected present

Scott came over for lunch today & when he walked in he said he had a present for me but he had left it in the garage  because it was kinda dirty & he wasn't sure I would want it.
"Are you kidding?"  I love it it....dirt and all..........he knows me so well!  Popster, on the other hand, just shook his head & walked away!
It so cool & I can just visualize it,  with a "make-over" of course,  hanging in my sewing room
Someone obviously made this...if you notice those are old measuring  cups at the top...they swivel out & have buttons & pins in them.
It closes up & has a handle on the top to make it completely portable.
The backing & pockets are some kind of heavy material that was put on with upholstery tacks.  Scott said he could make a back for it out of veneer....we'll see.
Just what I need with only approx 2 weeks before I go back to work!  I still have a zillion & one projects that were planned!
Stayed tuned for the big reveal....just don't hold your breath.  It may be a while!
Do you think it still works?
Imagine ....sewing machine oil for 30 cents!
Tracing wheel - deluxe model no less- 70 cents!

  1. Excellent find. What great stuff you have there. I think the tracing wheel might need a quick squirt of WD-40 but other than that it should work like a treat. And you won't have to push hard cos the rust should mark things perfectly.

I wonder what the miracle chemical actually is?

    1. I'm sure it's something that was banned years ago...I'd better not open it!

  2. I'm drooling over those vintage rulers! I bet someone somewhere will pay for that old Singer oil. The can looks to be in good shape. :) What a find!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

Forever Family Day

Oh my.....where does the time go!  Ten years ago this scared & tiny little girl was brought into a room full of strangers. She was so confused by the strange faces. Now look at the beautful, confident girl she has grown into. We love you LiLišŸ’– Love

Yowsa!

I was woken up around 3:30am yesterday by thunder as a line of severe storms were rolling through the area.  My alarm goes off at 4:00am so I figured I'd just get up.  I was standing in the kitchen waiting for the coffee pot when there was a blinding explosion in the back yard along with a huge clap of thunder.  It was like someone threw a bomb in the yard....needless to say it scared the crap out of me & I was waiting for a tree to fall.  We didn't see anything & I left the house at 7:00am while it was still raining.  Popster didn't see this until last night but it had struck this big oak that is about 15 feet from our sun room.  It just stripped that piece of bark right off the tree  Makes the expression "Don't mess with Mother Nature" become very real!
