What a serger can do

I realized I never posted these pics I took of my serger so I could show what it does....actually the only thing I've figured out so far would be more truthful!
It's a little scary as it cut the excess material away as it finishes the seam
This is the finished seam.....I have to add that the machine came pre-threaded & while I was doing this one of the threads ran out so I had to figure out how to thread it.  There is a lower looper, an upper looper & two needles.  I had a quick lesson in the store watching someone do it & I figured I could do that.

Wrong!

I forgot the most important part of the equation.......it has to be threaded in order from right to left & I just threaded the one that ran out & it only took 59 tries before I remembered that part!
This is a "before" picture

& the "after"
A couple more dresses I made

  2. Rosie loves the black one. But she is an orange and yellow girl....she just asked for an orange bedroom. I'm looking on the brightside and thinking we won't need to use lightbulbs in there.

46 years ago...............................

Today is our anniversary & I  have decided this post will be my version about how we met.......Popster's version would more than likely not be the same but that's how we roll! It was new year's eve 1963....yikes!.......I was a telephone operator in a little town called Huntingdon in England.  It was about 3 miles from Alconbury, an amercan air force base.  All calls went thru our switchboard including ones from the base so consequently we got to know all the GIs.  we would meet them at the Nickel Coin.........pictured here during our coffee..... or should I say tea?....breaks & lunch hours.  Whenever some newbies were transfered in they would be brought to town to meet the local girls. It was not "love at first sight"......I thought he was kinda nerdy & he thought I was a "stuck-up english broad"!  It was a few weeks later when he asked me to go to the movies that I realized he wasn't so "nerdy", so I guess we'll call
