Good golly Miss Molly

I haven't done an up-date on Molly & her classes for a while.  We graduated from Novice & the next one for her to take would be Beginner Open.   The only class I could get her in that I could go to was Intermediate Open so I figured what deheck we'll go for it.  Dr Ruth Betty wasn't teaching this session so we have a different teacher.....she knows Molly so cuts me some slack!

One of the things Molly needs to learn is retrieving a dumbbell which she decided she didn't like to even put it in her mouth.  I was totally befuddled as the one thing she loves to do is play ball, frisbee & does well at bringing it back....doesn't always give it back......but always brings it back!  I have literally spent weeks getting this dog to hold the dumbbell in her mouth, to even freely take it from me!!!

Look we have progress!!  She will finally take it from me & hold it as long as I want!

In case any of you were curious this is Dr Ruth Betty at the dog show with her dog....Pearl flunked out so now I don't feel so bad about Molly!

She is such a character.....I'd love to know what she is thinking!

  1. Question? why does she have to hold something so heavy in her teeth?

ROFL about Betty's dog flunking. I hope you told Molly the good news.

    1. Believe or not Dawn that dumbbell is made of resin so it's not at all heavy.....she just didn't like it for some reason only known to her! She has to eventually learn how to retrieve it, bring it back & sit in front of me & not let go of it until I tell her. I will have to see if I can find some videos on what we are going to be doing with the dumbbell.

46 years ago...............................

Today is our anniversary & I  have decided this post will be my version about how we met.......Popster's version would more than likely not be the same but that's how we roll! It was new year's eve 1963....yikes!.......I was a telephone operator in a little town called Huntingdon in England.  It was about 3 miles from Alconbury, an amercan air force base.  All calls went thru our switchboard including ones from the base so consequently we got to know all the GIs.  we would meet them at the Nickel Coin.........pictured here during our coffee..... or should I say tea?....breaks & lunch hours.  Whenever some newbies were transfered in they would be brought to town to meet the local girls. It was not "love at first sight"......I thought he was kinda nerdy & he thought I was a "stuck-up english broad"!  It was a few weeks later when he asked me to go to the movies that I realized he wasn't so "nerdy", so I guess we'll call
