Day Two Recap

It was a very productive day again today even with the change of plans.  Originally they were going to get the wiring done & possibly start the plumbing.  It was reasonably warm & with the threat of much colder weather on it's way, they decided to take out the french back door & then the window & put in the french patio doors.


Poor Davey is only a little guy & he's holding almost the whole weight of that window!  It didn't help that I was yelling don't drop it cus I had sold it on Cra*g's List!
This is poor man's air conditioning!

Tomorrow the other window will be replaced & moved slightly so it will be in the center of the sink cabinet.  they did get a good part of the wiring done & this outside wall insulated so we don't freeze tonight.

    Why do husbands of clumsy woman find it necessary to point out HUGE warning labels. We can read we are just not ever so coordinated.

    Trying to imagine the doors with the sun but I can see snow outside!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. Liza's treat ball

This is one of the most important things in our house - it is Liza's treat ball! I bought this about 9 or 10 years ago & it had a "trap door" where the gaping hole is & when you put treats in it you could control how easily they would fall out as the ball rolled around. Liza learned that if she rolled it down the stairs the treats would usually fall out which is why it looks this way. I have tried super glue etc. but it never stays together! It is sadly beaten & broken but try as I may I have never been able to find another one like it. I have spent hours looking & have bought many similar but nothing will ever take it's place. She knows where it is almost all the time - usually keeps it in her bed - but when it's missing she just paces the house until someone helps her find it. She used to be able to hold it in her mouth like this by just hooking it onto her eye tooth Now she just puts her bottom jaw into the opening like this There is a rit...
