We decided that because today was Shrove Tuesday or as the Brits call it Pancake Day, we would go to Huntingdon & get fish & chips for lunch. The best place to get them was *"take away" only, so Susan packed some plates & forks so we could eat it in the car by the river.
Popster & Susan ordering.

These guys wanted to know who the "crazy lady" was that was taking photos through the window!

Eating in the car

More canadian geese far, far from home!

Papa duck

Mama duck

Baby swan or a cygnet

This guy decided he would pose for me.

Isn't he beautiful?

This is the bridge that divides Huntingdon & Godmanchester - the building is an old mill.

This is a very old hotel

See how narrow the streets are

This is where Popster & I would play darts for beers!

This was the main street through town - now it's pedestrian only.

This is the un-employment center.

Another one of our hang-outs - a little more upscale, but it had a billiards table!

The tall building is the Telephone Co. - where I used to work.

This used to be called the Nickel Coin & was a cafe where we would go for our coffee breaks & lunch hours. All the G.I.'s from the base would also hang out there as we got to know each other because of our jobs. It is where Popster & I met on New Year's day in 1964 - sorry to disappoint but it wasn't love at first sight. I thought he was a little nerdy & he thought I was "stuck up"!!! It was a few weeks later when we saw each other for a second time that the "sparks" started to fly!

We used to race like crazy down this alley as we only had 15 min coffee break!

Town Hall

Check out the year Huntingdon became a borough - yes that does say 1205!!
