Today's "adventure" - updated

Update: Matthew(the boy I sat next to on the bus) told Popster that he thought I was "rather pretty"! Very funny remark coming from a kindergartner!!!!

Today I got up early again & did I get to do my cards - no - instead I was picked up at the end of my driveway by the "big yellow school bus" in the above picture & got to ride to school with all the elementary schools kids - (also see above picture)! I was commissioned to take the photo for Popster's christmas card. It really was kinda cute as all the kids called me "Mrs Dennis"(Popster is Mr Dennis) & sang christmas carols to me all the way to school!
Then I hitched a ride back home & photo-edited the picture & ordered his christmas cards.
Did I finish or even start my cards? NO!
Scott showed up & we went to pick up mortar & tile grout for my new floor & I helped him lay out the tile until around 2:30pm. No I did not start my cards & my house is wrecked even worse than before!
Then my neighbor Ellen called to see if she could come over for help with a knitting problem so I put another pot of coffee & there went the rest of my day.
Am I doing my cards now? NO! Tomorrow's another day. Goodnight.

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love

Sewing, weaving & emptying the waterbed

Monday morning began bright & early as we needed to finish emptying our bedroom.  Mark was dropping LiLi off before 8:00am as she does not have school this week.  We needed to drain the waterbed before we could take it apart.  As usual we were having no luck getting the water to siphon out & even resorted to having LiLi (all 35lbs of her) sitting on it with us!!  It probably took over an hour & who knows how many tries before it worked.  Got the mattress out & discovered the decking was falling apart.....good thing we decided to do this project,,,,I was able to find a local place so we can just replace it & to be safe I also got a new safety liner & heater.  I don't want to be doing this again for a while!  While Popster worked on replacing the baseboard & window trim in those two rooms LiLi & I started working on this doll kit she had gotten for her birthday.  All the pieces needed to be sewn togeth...
