Yard work & behavior modification

We finally had some beautiful weather today so we were able to get a lot of work done in the yard. I was able to get a lot of flowers planted but didn't get back to my big project of the new flower bed............it still looks like this! I finally found the two trees I was looking for - a Kousa or Chinese dogwood & a standard hydrangea............I can't wait to get this finished! It's not easy getting anything done as Miss Molly "demands" her share of attention! She seems to be responding well to being disciplined but definitely still has her "sassy backtalk" moments. Mark Dani & Li Li came over Sat which was an experience.......Li Li wasn't about to get down from anyone's lap but seems to like her. Dani has a great talent with animals so she was able to calm her down. We came back here after dinner & they played with Miss Molly while Li Li & I took a walk down the street. She loves to throw stones in the storm drain so by ...

In Memory...........

It's been four years & I still feel like I should be able to pick up the phone to tell you about everything going on here with us. There isn't a day that goes by I don't think about you...........

This is supposed to be Spring????

This is the craziest spring weather we've had in a long time.........tomorrow is June 1st & we could get a frost tonight with a possibility of snow in the Adirondacks. I am beginning to despair of ever finishing my yard this year. We had a week of rain & then Friday it got a little better but I ended up spending most of the day doing the flower beds at the golf course. Sat was an adventure as I thought Miss Molly's first obedience class was at 9:00 AM & I was taking her (Popster plays golf on Saturdays). I got her in my car & had to drive about a mile & a half but by the time we got there she was drooling & very unhappy. I had the date wrong.....doesn't start until the 13th DUH! Back in the car we went & she threw up before we got home. Cleaned her up & had to put her back in the car to go to the groomers...about a 6 mile ride. Of course she didn't make it so had to clean her up again & then leave her in a strange place - poor...

Life with Miss Molly

When Popster & I decided we would begin the search for another dog about the only we were in agreement with that we would not try to replace Liza. I had been doing a lot of research on-line & had found a couple of possibilities but never anything local.......or even in New York State for that matter!! I had even suggested driving about 300 miles (one way) to look at one dog I found. We finally decided to look at some shelters & rescue groups locally & decided if either one of us said no to a dog we would walk away no questions asked. Sunday morning I got up & started my usual search of the shelters & the one up the street which happens to be the first one on the list......starts with an A! They usually only had a couple of dogs mostly pitbull mix! I couldn't believe it when I saw a labradoodle as we had been checking out standard poodle or poodle mix dogs. Needless to say we were "camped out" the the parking lot at 11:45 AM - they opened at...

Tore up other rug in kitchen Jumped on table after Popster's steak Peed on floor in kitchen Jumped on table to steal newspaper Chewed up dried hydrangea flowers Was found sleeping on the new couch with her head on the new pillow Tugged kitchen rug around again

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL

Pigs for chickens?????

Remember this? Well those poor animals are now a distant memory .......well if we all check our freezers not so distant. Now we have these....... Miss Li Li loved the chicken & while we were at Scott's for Jessie's birthday kept talking whoever she could into taking her downstairs to visit. She loved the "lellow" one!

Happy 14th Birthday Jessica

Happy birthday Jessie - I can't believe you are 14 already!!!!!

Is Spring really here?

It's lonely................

I cannot believe how "empty" the house feels without Liza. I hate it when I get up it the morning & see that empty spot on the floor! When I come home & there's not anyone waiting right by the door. I lost my best friend.

Happy Easter

" up-date" I had this post ready to add last week intending to put some pictures of this easter in it before posting it. Unfortunately all plans changed........Li Li ended up with pneumonia so maybe we'll have dinner next weekend instead. This was one year ago on Easter

TGIF................

This really says it all!!!! The last couple of weeks have been really crazy............going back to work in the spring is normally a gradual thing but this year it was crazy busy from the beginning & I have been working six days every week. I know & this is the year I planned to cut back on my hours! I got out of there around 1:00 PM yesterday & am not working again until Sun morning.......whoopee! It was such a gorgeous day yesterday & came home & got right to work on the yard. I have managed to do a little bit here & there & it felt good to stay out for a few hours. We had such a mess from the ice storm in November which got all covered in snow so was never cleaned up. Most of the lawn is done now & I just have to finsh up the flower beds & the "forever wild" area in the back of the yard. Popster been really busy with Mark & Dani's house........it went on the market a week ago last Sunday so he had open house two weeks i...

I just love this little face!

"One year ago........leaving China

This picture was taken at Beijing airport right before we boarded our flight to Newark! Here we are getting our luggage in Newark........I got severely reprimanded for taking this picture - thought the customs officer was going to confiscate my camera!!! And now getting into our limo for the long ride back to New York - at this point Miss Li Li was an official US citizen!
