Frozen Tundra

We finally got outside to walk when it wasn't ridiculously cold & I wasn't wearing mittens over my gloves to stay warm.  It was above freezing for the first time in 10 days.
We took Molly over to Indian Meadows so she could get a "real" walk where she could run & be a dog!
Only problem we had trouble walking....
......on the frozen tundra. This looks harmless but all those footsteps are iced over so it was very hard to keep your balance.  Also if you didn't pay attention(like me) you could step into snow drifts up to your knees!

I took all these with my new lens.  It's a wide angle for landscapes & I'm loving the new perspective it gives me.

It was the perfect time of day to get some great shots.

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love

6 DAYS........................& Popster has a new "toy"

It is less than a week until we leave & my list is not getting much shorter................especially when my dear hubby decides to start looking for another vehicle. After looking on the internet Weds night I reluctantly agreed to go with him yesterday morning.............it was supposed to be a "look & see" what he might like. By noon he had bought a new vehicle ! What happened? He is always the impulsive one & I usually am able to "rein" him in so we shop around! I guess I must be slipping! Today I must get my nose to the grindstone & get my stuff done. It is Dani's last day at & I will be helping her with last minute things next week. NOTE: For my children..........before you ask YES we are spending your inheritance!
