How cold is cold?

I cannot believe it's Friday already.....it's been another crazy week.  After spending mon & tues painting all the trim in the bedroom & my sewing room it was time to start putting those two rooms back together.  Popster helped me carry the base of the bed into our room before he left for his afternoon bus run.  I put that part together & when he got home we started on the the frame.

Mistake # one we relied on our "minds" to remember exactly where the bed went.  DUH!

After going back and forth a few times we decided for the sake of our sanity & our marriage we would take Molly for a walk instead!  We started on it again weds morning with no better revelations as to where exactly the dang bed went. We plunged merrily ahead & fastened the headboard to the wall, put the frame together, & were ready to put in the liner when I stood back & looked at it  & said "It's in the wrong place!  We have to move it!"

There were a few curse words exchanged & we started over!  Moved the headboard, moved the frame & base, put the liner in, put the mattress in & started filling it up with water.  About 20 mins later I stood back & looked at it again & said "It's not straight!  We need to fix it!"

Do you have any idea how heavy a waterbed is?
If you need us we will be in therapy for next week or two!

Just kidding!

Let's just say there was a little tension in the air for a few minutes but we got the bed straight & filled.  We are back to below normal temps .....20 degrees below normal.....so the cold water that we filled up the bed with it's way colder than normal.  How cold is it?  You could use the bed to keep popsicles frozen!
The water heats up at approx 1/2 degree an hour & needs to reach 85 degrees.  I figure we'll be sleeping in it again by the end of March!

So we will continue with our current sleeping arrangement....Popster on the couch down in the mancave & me on the couch in the living room.

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Molly bike riding????

Popster has been teaching Molly to run along side of his bike.  It has been a slow process but she's finally getting it.  They start off very slowly.......  then speed up a little......  which is when she gets crazy& decides to "carry" the leash......  gradually she feels more comfortable....  then she begins to gallop.... & the ears start to flap!!!!!

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love
