Long Island & Molly meets the ocean!

We drove to Long Island Sat as it was JoAnne's birthday & that's where she moved to at the beginning of Sept (let me tell you the trip to Boston was much easier)
New York city is a nightmare of traffic & expensive tolls!
This is the George Washington bridge.....$13.00 each way...here we are going on the upper bridge....we did the lower bridge on the way home.

New York city skyline
I have a stupid obsession with bridges  if it's there I must go over it
This is the Whitestone bridge
Another view of the city
JoAnne & Josh live in Long Beach & are a few short blocks from the ocean.  Jessica had taken the train down the day before.
"Okay Molly this is the ocean or the pond as it's also known as"
"Let's go run in the water"
"You want me to go in there?"
"No way"

We got out the frisbee & she would go get it & then go all the way up on the beach, far away from the water!

Popster started throwing it closer & closer to the water
Next you know she got her feet wet.
Then the face went in.
Pretty soon she looked like this
Then there was no holding her back

She was having the best time

Until this happened & the wave chased her out!
She lost the frisbee but Jessie found it for her
& she was back in action!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Molly bike riding????

Popster has been teaching Molly to run along side of his bike.  It has been a slow process but she's finally getting it.  They start off very slowly.......  then speed up a little......  which is when she gets crazy& decides to "carry" the leash......  gradually she feels more comfortable....  then she begins to gallop.... & the ears start to flap!!!!!

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love
