The trail to nowhere.........................

It was a fairly decent weekend even though the weather man was predicting a "wash-out" for Sat. Now Miss Molly can ride in the car we have been going to different places to walk. So when the sun came out Saturday afternoon we decided to go explore a bike trail we have been going to a lot.
I had read that they got some grant to expand this trail & they had redone part of where we had been going. We parked in the village of Round Lake & headed in the other direction..........the first mileage marker we came to said 13.5 miles & the next one was 13 miles so we were like wow we must be going all the way to Halfmoon! After about 2 miles the trail crossed a street & there was a place to park so at that point we turned around figuring the next time that would be our starting point.

I had to work Sunday morning but went to the market on the way home so we could go explore our trail again. We didn't have a problem finding where we left off & started out again. I t was now pretty desolate going away from the road & following a swampy area. Miss Molly was having a great time as we could let her off the leash for short periods. We kept seeing the mile markers & I had just got through saying how it would take us 3-4 weekends to complete the whole trail when guess what.............................it ended!!!! We had come to a road & we could not find anyway it continued on.

After we got home I checked on the web & apparently that's all they've completed so far!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Molly bike riding????

Popster has been teaching Molly to run along side of his bike.  It has been a slow process but she's finally getting it.  They start off very slowly.......  then speed up a little......  which is when she gets crazy& decides to "carry" the leash......  gradually she feels more comfortable....  then she begins to gallop.... & the ears start to flap!!!!!

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love
