"The 1st 30 days!"

This is what my living room looks like now!

But how can anyone yell at this face??

Her new favorite game - playing football with a basketball

One of her favorite ways to sleep!

It has been an interesting month & that's putting it mildly! Popster made the comment that before Miss Molly came along he read a library book a week. Since she joined us he is still reading the same book also the same page! Her manners have really improved & thanks to the "Gentle Leader" walking is a lot easier. We started obedience class last week & once we got past the initial excitement of meeting the other dogs she settled down & did really well. Only problem was in the car on the way there she drooled up a river & on the way home threw up ............in spite of me stopping 3 times...........it's a 5 minute ride!!!!! She has been riding in Popster's car & we take her to the park with her only drooling a little. Hopefully she will outgrow this! About two weeks ago she discovered the upstairs............only problem she refused to come back down & would just sit at the top & bark until somone went to get her! I finally spent 10 minutes teaching her how to come down by putting treats on every other step...................new problem.........she goes up all the time so Popster doesn't get to sleep in anymore! If I try to stop her from going up she sits at the bottom & barks. She is really "bonding" well with both of us, in fact this morning she followed me from room to room as I got ready & would lay with her head between my feet..................made me feel really guilty when I had to put her in her crate so I could leave!

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Happy "13th" Birthday Liza

Today is Liza's 13th birthday(that is 91 in people years). We are just amazed that she not only is still with us, after being told 18 months ago she wouldn't live 6 months but that weather permitting she still walks 2 miles every morning & another 2 in the afternoon! Check out the slide show.......her friend Lucy came over tonight & they each had a donut w/frosting & sprinkles along with ice cream. It was just too funny as neither one of them can see worth a damn but they knew they were getting something good! Lucy had hers gone in 2 bites but Liza went for the ice cream first & then took her time licking off the frosting!

Sewing, weaving & emptying the waterbed

Monday morning began bright & early as we needed to finish emptying our bedroom.  Mark was dropping LiLi off before 8:00am as she does not have school this week.  We needed to drain the waterbed before we could take it apart.  As usual we were having no luck getting the water to siphon out & even resorted to having LiLi (all 35lbs of her) sitting on it with us!!  It probably took over an hour & who knows how many tries before it worked.  Got the mattress out & discovered the decking was falling apart.....good thing we decided to do this project,,,,I was able to find a local place so we can just replace it & to be safe I also got a new safety liner & heater.  I don't want to be doing this again for a while!  While Popster worked on replacing the baseboard & window trim in those two rooms LiLi & I started working on this doll kit she had gotten for her birthday.  All the pieces needed to be sewn togeth...
