What are the chances of that happening............?

I drove to Boston yesterday to help JoAnn with her move into a new apartment(yes she moved again). I had forgotten to ask her for her new address & after I was on my way Popster called to see what time I had left. He asked how I was going to find my way there to which I said "No problem I had entered her old address into "Wanda" (GPS) & that I knew her new apartment was right around the corner". To which he jokingly said "What are you just going to drive around until you see her car?" I called her when I got off the Mass turnpike & she told me to call her again when I got to California St. I had "Wanda" in my lap so was just listening to the directions but wasn't watching the map to see where I should be turning. "Wanda" had me take a left on some very obcure one-way street & as I was coming up to the next cross street saw what I thought was JoAnn's car parked behind an apartment bldg on the corner. The cross street was California so I pulled over to call her - guess what - it was her car & she could see me out of her window!!!! "Wanda" could have picked any street for me to go down so what were the chances of her finally getting something right?

Anyway we stayed up until one o'clock putting curtains & arranging furniture & deciding where to hang pictures etc. Then got up early today & finished it up. It really looked nice when we were done but I forgot my camera..........so no pictures! After going out for a nice lunch & headed home. It's a long drive to only spend one night but I'm glad I did it.

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Happy "13th" Birthday Liza

Today is Liza's 13th birthday(that is 91 in people years). We are just amazed that she not only is still with us, after being told 18 months ago she wouldn't live 6 months but that weather permitting she still walks 2 miles every morning & another 2 in the afternoon! Check out the slide show.......her friend Lucy came over tonight & they each had a donut w/frosting & sprinkles along with ice cream. It was just too funny as neither one of them can see worth a damn but they knew they were getting something good! Lucy had hers gone in 2 bites but Liza went for the ice cream first & then took her time licking off the frosting!

Sewing, weaving & emptying the waterbed

Monday morning began bright & early as we needed to finish emptying our bedroom.  Mark was dropping LiLi off before 8:00am as she does not have school this week.  We needed to drain the waterbed before we could take it apart.  As usual we were having no luck getting the water to siphon out & even resorted to having LiLi (all 35lbs of her) sitting on it with us!!  It probably took over an hour & who knows how many tries before it worked.  Got the mattress out & discovered the decking was falling apart.....good thing we decided to do this project,,,,I was able to find a local place so we can just replace it & to be safe I also got a new safety liner & heater.  I don't want to be doing this again for a while!  While Popster worked on replacing the baseboard & window trim in those two rooms LiLi & I started working on this doll kit she had gotten for her birthday.  All the pieces needed to be sewn togeth...
