"Another snowy Sunday!"

Woke up this morning to more snow but at least it was feeling a little warmer - it's pretty sad when you think 19 degrees is warm. Anyway I decide it was a good day for "comfort" food so
after a trip to the market I made cabbage soup - it is by far our favorite winter soup. I also had found a recipe for apple crisp using Idahoan Butter & Herb instant mashed potatoes...........I know strange but I had to try it! Poster will be my guinea pig! He'll eat it & I'll let you know later!

We decide this afternoon to take Liza to her favorite park for a walk - with it being so cold she hasn't been out for too many walks & the street were all salt again. It was hard work walking through the snow but she had a ball!

PS. Recipe for soup:

(1) medium cabbage shredded

(1) - large onion chopped

(3) - 14-1/2oz cans chicken broth

(3) – tblsp sugar

salt & pepper to taste

(1) – bay leaf

(2) – tblsp worcestershire sauce

(1)lb. ground beef or ground turkey

(2) 6oz cans tomato paste

1-1/4 tsp allspice

(2) 14oz cans baked beans

Brown meat and onion together in large (6-quart) pot. Add all other ingredients except for tomato paste and baked beans. Stir well, bring to boil and simmer for (1) hour until cabbage is cooked. Add tomato paste and baked beans and simmer for approximately another 1//2 hour.

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Molly bike riding????

Popster has been teaching Molly to run along side of his bike.  It has been a slow process but she's finally getting it.  They start off very slowly.......  then speed up a little......  which is when she gets crazy& decides to "carry" the leash......  gradually she feels more comfortable....  then she begins to gallop.... & the ears start to flap!!!!!

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love
