Irene gave her best shot but...........

.......it wasn't all that bad.  Yes we did have lots of rain...around 4+ inches, & wind but not a strong as they predicted,  of course we lost power but then again when we live we lose power constantly!  Most of the time for no reason.  It went out about 8:00am & came back on around 4:30pm.  It just meant a very lazy day reading every section of the sunday paper & doing every crossword in it.  I even managed to complete the sudoku.......that never happens as the sunday one is the hardest!

 These were taken around ninish.
See this branch went right through the shed roof...there is about 3 feet of it inside!
This poor bedraggled bird was one of a few sheltering & getting some food around lunch time!
 This is a "redneck" chandelier!

This is almost at the end of the worst part...taken around 4:00pm
This is the Alplaus Kill which is up the street from us.
We took a ride to see how things were in the neighborhood.......lots of trees down but nothing really bad.  We spent about an hour after dinner cleaning up part of the yard but it is still really windy so I'm sure it will be a few days until we get it all done.

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Molly bike riding????

Popster has been teaching Molly to run along side of his bike.  It has been a slow process but she's finally getting it.  They start off very slowly.......  then speed up a little......  which is when she gets crazy& decides to "carry" the leash......  gradually she feels more comfortable....  then she begins to gallop.... & the ears start to flap!!!!!

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love
