Breaking all of OSHA rules or how not to work from a step ladder next to stairs....

I broke every safety rule & then some today while taping the stripes......what I thought would be a couple hours to tape & maybe an hour to paint turned into an all day marathon & I didn't even get to the painting.

In other words I grossly under estimated what this job involved!

This is what looked like at 1:00 pm when Popster got home from golf....after I turned the corner  I realized I would run out of tape so I sent him to the store to another roll....45 mins later he came back with the wrong thing....what else is new!!!!  While he went back to the store I continued on marking where the stripes would be....& was actually congratulating myself on how well it was working out.  No problem with where they fell next to the doors......everything was level.....never happens in an older home like this...really patting myself on the back.  When Popster finally got back with the right tape I went back to work.

Now did I continue to tape from where I left off?  Of course not!  I started at the end & worked backwards!

What happened?  When I reached the point where I had left off before something did not look right!  I was putting the tape on the wrong side of the lines so I had to rip it all down & redo that whole wall!

I finally got it all redone, jumped in the shower & got ready so we could meet Mark & Dani for dinner.  Now I will have to paint it tomorrow morning!

I went up & down the ladder at least 5,000 times & figured I burned at least 10,000 calories so I'm having ice cream tonight with some Aleve as a chaser for my aching body!

Today we have a riddle???

What do you get when you cross a pile of scraps, a sewing machine, a woman possessed, & a husband on a week long golf trip?  The following.........  This is a tablecloth for my kitchen table....forgot to take the finished pic  Cover for my sewing machine...very proud of this as I quilted the whole thing.  This is the back....got tired of doing squares!  Matching cover for my serger.  I meant to post these a while ago & must have forgot.  I have done a couple other projects since then which I will get around to posting soon.  Had computer problems so I have some catching up to do Love

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while ...

Molly bike riding????

Popster has been teaching Molly to run along side of his bike.  It has been a slow process but she's finally getting it.  They start off very slowly.......  then speed up a little......  which is when she gets crazy& decides to "carry" the leash......  gradually she feels more comfortable....  then she begins to gallop.... & the ears start to flap!!!!!
