Halloween (Yes I do mean this year)

With thanksgiving looming around the corner I figured I'd better get to my post about halloween.

A couple months before(it may even have been 3 or 4, as this kid definitely plans way ahead😉😉) LiLi drew this sketch of what she wanted to be for halloween & mentioned it weekly to make sure I was doing my part & figuring out how to make it.  Of course me, being me, headed off to the store the week before, spent a zillion dollars on fabric & managed to snag this hat which was almost identical to the one she had designed!  Score one for Nana!  It needed to be done the friday before & true to my schedule I went over with it Thurs night for a final fitting.  She absolutely loved it but made sure to tell me I had reversed the black & white on the skirt😜😜  I also had to take a pair of scissors & cut this beautiful dress while she was instructing me on how it should look.  In case you are wondering, the blotchy  stains on the bodice are supposed to be blood!
Don't you love the way she really gets into character?

She did her own hair & makeup

I think she liked it!  Every year I think this is the last year I'll be making a costume but she is already planning for next year!

Let's not forget the fur babies.

 Molly's costume didn't show up in time😥

  1. LiLis costume is amazing. You really are so talented. Luna looks so cute and in my never humble opinion, I think Molly was the lucky one. What’s the equivalent for bah humbug on Halloween? Well that’s me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

Forever Family Day

Oh my.....where does the time go!  Ten years ago this scared & tiny little girl was brought into a room full of strangers. She was so confused by the strange faces. Now look at the beautful, confident girl she has grown into. We love you LiLi💖 Love

Yowsa!

I was woken up around 3:30am yesterday by thunder as a line of severe storms were rolling through the area.  My alarm goes off at 4:00am so I figured I'd just get up.  I was standing in the kitchen waiting for the coffee pot when there was a blinding explosion in the back yard along with a huge clap of thunder.  It was like someone threw a bomb in the yard....needless to say it scared the crap out of me & I was waiting for a tree to fall.  We didn't see anything & I left the house at 7:00am while it was still raining.  Popster didn't see this until last night but it had struck this big oak that is about 15 feet from our sun room.  It just stripped that piece of bark right off the tree  Makes the expression "Don't mess with Mother Nature" become very real!
