Birds in flight

Love

Raging River

My work schedule is in full summer mode even though our weather is still stuck in "not sure it's spring" mode  I worked Sat morning & after getting home decided it just wasn't nice enough to work in the yard so we took Molly for a hike instead.  We combined it with running errands so ended up walking by the river in Vischer's Ferry.  There were lots of pairs of ducks in the canal  I have never seen the water coming over the dam like this  Look at that huge tree stuck in the water!  On our way to the dam some people told us there was a pair of bald eagles nesting nearby  The nest was way across a field & this is as good as I could get....I'll bring my zoom lens next time Love

Spring?

Spring is finally making an appearance around here  This used to be the only green I could find in the woods  Now after a week of reasonably warm weather these are showing their faces  The golf course opened on April 10th & after a very cool weekend, last week was beautiful & insanely busy.  After working 6 days straight & frantically raking sections of the yard in between I got to enjoy a an hour off walking around Indian Meadows....in case you don't recognize her the black blur is Molly.  She was doing her usual " Maybe they're not paying attention so I'll run through this muddy puddle!"   She's such a brat!  This week it's gone back to cool & rainy days but spring is always fickle around here! Love

Just some ramblings

I found these on my camera & think they were from one day last week when we went to the bike path It is what I refer to as "ugly season"....everything is blah!  It has been so cold there's no sign of buds or flowers anywhere.  Spring is very late!  It finally warmed up some last week.....I am using the term "warmed up" very loosely....& the golf course opened Friday.  It was cold & rainy first thing but those crazy golfers (including Popster) didn't care & we were extremely busy most of the day.  It got a little nicer saturday but very windy again & yesterday started cold but ended up being sunny & reached 70 degrees....finally a nice day! I think that shot looks better in black & white I got a little creative with the rest of the pics. Love

Easter & lots of music

Everyone came for brunch on Easter morning  LiLi read her note from the easter bunny & started looking for eggs without even taking her coat off.  It was freezing cold which so they were hidden inside the house. Of course she was anxious to go play the piano so Popster gave her some new songs.  She had written a note to the easter bunny & in it said that if he was santa she would have asked for a keyboard.   That came up in a conversation between Mark & Scott & the next thing we know Scott had disappeared.  When he came back he told LiLi that when he drove down the street he saw the easter bunny put something in her dad's truck & run off into the woods.  When she went to check it out she could hear music.  Look at that face!  The wonder of kids believing in magic.....I love it!  When I sent a pic of her with it to Josh & Jessie they both replied saying it looked suspiciously like one they had when they were both learning piano!

Shenantaha & wildlife

Saturday we decided to take a walk at Shenantaha Park just for something different....every place around here still has snow & ice or muddy, muddy trails because the ground is still frozen.  This is Ballston Lake which is overflowing as the snow melts  Here's a good view of how the water is sitting on top of the grass because it has no place to go!  The sky was an amazing shade of blue  One of the streams carrying snow melt  Skinny Molly playing in the snow  Then on our way out of the park we saw this coming at us down the hill.  It's a coyote & he decided to go the other way (phew)  This pair apparently confused this puddle with a pond?
