If at first you don't succeed.....

In Popster's quest to have Molly be able to do an agility trial without acting like a "yahoo" he has signed her up for a series of lessons with a new instructor.  The girl is supposed to be an incredible teacher & you can see here how she trained one of her own dogs.  Her place is about 45 mins from our house & right in the middle of  horse & cow country.
We took a ride Sunday to find it as his classes will be starting soon.
There were lots of big dairy farms like this.
You could see for miles in all directions.
Will this work for Molly?

Who knows but he'll have fun trying!

  1. No pressure Molly. I love that even with a GPS you guys always do a dry run. LOL. Does he do this with his bus routes?

  2. Oh yes....Popster does not trust anyone ...... especially that voice in the mirror(On-Star). I'm not going with him & I know he'll get lost! Maybe Molly will navigate! He was always in a panic when he was a sub & had different runs but his permanant run ended up being our own neighborhood.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG BROTHER

Happy birthday to my big brother Terry...........have a wonderful day!

46 years ago...............................

Today is our anniversary & I  have decided this post will be my version about how we met.......Popster's version would more than likely not be the same but that's how we roll! It was new year's eve 1963....yikes!.......I was a telephone operator in a little town called Huntingdon in England.  It was about 3 miles from Alconbury, an amercan air force base.  All calls went thru our switchboard including ones from the base so consequently we got to know all the GIs.  we would meet them at the Nickel Coin.........pictured here during our coffee..... or should I say tea?....breaks & lunch hours.  Whenever some newbies were transfered in they would be brought to town to meet the local girls. It was not "love at first sight"......I thought he was kinda nerdy & he thought I was a "stuck-up english broad"!  It was a few weeks later when he asked me to go to the movies that I realized he wasn't so "nerdy", so I guess we'll call

Designer "doggy uggs"

Poor Molly has been having a hard time already this winter with the snow. She has good size pads on her feet which are "webbed" like a lab's foot.  When she goes in the snow it builds up in between her pads & forms a hard piece of almost ice-like snow.  Then she holds her foot up for someone to pull it out.  I decided to make her her own boots. Jessica had spent the night here as we went to First night for new years....more on that later.....so we "googled" how to make dog boots & then modified it to work for Molly.  Keep in mind these were boots you could make in 10 minutes.  It took approx 10 mins to measure Molly's feet.  Two hours later here's the results I did decide to make her 2 for each foot figuring she would be like any typical kid & lose a couple here & there. We had to go to W*lmart in the middle of the project to get velcro to make the fasteners.  We then made her wear them around the house for a while &
